Lake City Mayor Jon Milligan gives address of the city
Lake City Mayor Jon Milligan gave the City of Lake City Address at the Jan. 22 council meeting.
He included in his address the accomplishments of the past year and plans for the coming year.
“In 2017 the City purchased land from Riverside School, and a new water tank was erected,” he said. “The city has continued installing auto-read meters. There are plans to do more paving this year with a state highway grant the city will receive. Long term planning includes the update and future growth of a sewer plant, city-wide trash cans for all residents, and finishing out the auto-read meters in the city.”
Mayor Milligan informed the Council tipping fees would be going up 75 cents in March. He felt like this was something that needed to be reviewed and he would have figures at the next council meeting.
The council adopted Ordinance No. 297-18, amending the 2017 budget appropriating money for the expenditures during the year.
The council then adopted Ordinance 298-18 adopting the budget for 2018.
The mayor and the city clerk salary increases were included in the 2018 budget. Each was given a $1,200 annual salary increase.
The next council meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at city hall.
