Lady Rebels chalk up three more victories -- Improve to 27-1 overall

Riverside protected its number one ranking in Class 3A Girls, winning three straight games last week while upping their overall record to 27-1 on the season. The Lady Rebels, who are a perfect 12-0 in conference play, took down Osceola 71-24 Monday night at Lake City. Riverside pounded Westside 70-36 Thursday night on the road before closing the week with a 60-47 victory Friday night at Rivercrest.

Lotti Hoffman poured in a career high 27 points to lead the Lady Rebels past Osceola. Haven Robertson also contributed double digits, pumping in 13. Whitney Wagganor scored seven, Carson Smith, Lexi Hall, Hailey Carr and Grace Ann Puckett all tallied four points apiece while Mallory Felton, Brittney Sain, Ashlyn Wright and Carmen Campbell pitched in two points each. Riverside made 8-12 foul shots and knocked down three treys.

Rondaishia McNeal led the Lady Seminoles with seven points.

Riverside led 20-5 after the first break, and outscored Osceola 31-3 in the second quarter to grab a 51-8 halftime advantage. The Lady Rebels took a commanding 64-15 lead into the fourth period.

In the junior high game, Riverside rolled to a 54-32 win by Beaner Hoffman’s 30-point performance. Anna Meurer scored 13, Cailey Qualls netted five while Alexis Courtney and Payton Douglas chipped in three points apiece.

Doniah Haynes paced the Lady Seminoles with 13 points.

Riverside placed three players in double digits in Thursday night’s win over Westside, led by Robertson’s 20 point night. Hoffman scored 14 while Wagganor added 11. Sain tallied nine, Puckett had eight, Campbell netted four while Hall contributed two. Felton and Carr chipped in one point each. Riverside knocked down 11-16 foul shots and drained nine three pointers.

Bailee Crowe topped the Lady Warriors with 12 points. Westside made 6-12 free throws and hit two three pointers.

The Lady Rebels led 13-7 after the first period, 36-20 at the half and 64-28 after three periods of play.

In the junior high matchup, Riverside downed Westside 45-29. Hoffman paced the Lady Rebels with 16 points while Meurer and Qualls added 14 points apiece. Douglas scored one point.

Riverside finished the week with a 13-point win at Rivercrest. Robertson led the Lady Rebels with 15 points while Sain and Puckett added 13 and 12 points respectively.

Sydney Lane led the Lady Colts with 17 points while Zoe Warhurst chipped in 10.

Riverside corralled Rivercrest 53-29 in the junior game. Hoffman led the Lady Rebels (22-7, 12-0) with 16 points. Meurer scored 12 while Qualls added 11.

The Lady Rebels return to action Monday night when they play host to Harrisburg. Riverside finishes the week with a home game Thursday night against Rivercrest.
