Lady Rebels sink Pirates 63-40
Riverside rolled to their 24th victory of the season, sinking the Gosnell Lady Pirates 63-40 Thursday night at Lake City. The Lady Rebels jumped to a 19-4 advantage after the first break and led 33-16 at intermission. Riverside took a commanding 59-30 lead into the final frame.
Bailey Fisher banged home five three pointers and finished with 17 points to lead the Lady Rebels while Whitney Wagganor and Lotti Hoffman both scored 11. Hailey Carr tallied seven, Carson Smith netted five while Mallory Felton added four points. Haven Robertson and Brittney Sain chipped in three points each while Lexi Hall finished with two points. Riverside was 13-18 from the foul stripe and knocked down six three pointers.
Zkiah Kuykendall paced the Lady Pirates with 19 points while Lakiya Turner added 12. Gosnell made four of 10 free throws but failed to connect from beyond the three-point line.
In the junior high contest, Riverside improved to 19-7 overall and 10-0 in the blended conference with a 52-24 win over Gosnell.
Anna Meurer topped the Lady Rebels with 17 points while Beaner Hoffman and Cailey Qualls added 14 and 10 points respectively. Ty-Ana Howard led the Lady Pirates with 13.
The Lady Rebels return to the hardcourt Thursday night with a road trip to Westside.
