Edna Cornish Hall

Monette -- Edna Cornish Hall, 79, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born Nov. 20, 1938, in McKenzie, Ala., to the late Ed Earl and Dessree Wiggins Hooks. Edna worked many years at Brown’s Shoe Factory and the Pillow Factory-Arlee Home Fashions. She enjoyed going to the boat at Caruthersville and yardwork. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also worked with the Relay for Life program. She was a member of the Monette First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Hall; her children, Joyce Greenwood (Mike) of Coldwater, Miss., David Cornish (Gina) of Black Oak, Stacey Watson (Jeff) of Steelville, Mo., and Tracey Taylor (Paul) of Sugar Land, Texas; a brother, Floyd Hooks (Karen) Leesville, La.; sister, Judy Wilson (Pete) of Ramer, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Dana Cross (Chris), Shelly Greenwood, Jesse White, Courtney Cornish Rutherford, Blayr Watson-Barron (Andy), Brock Davis (Heather) and Devin Branum (Brittney); six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Jesse Cornish; a daughter, Sherry Cornish-Cossey; two sisters, Opal Landreth and Gracie Capps; a brother, Hillary Hooks; two grandsons, Landon Morgan and Brandon Morgan.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Eugene Merrill officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ron McCullars, Dennis Gathright, Ryan Lane, Drew Calhoun, Roger Vance and John Lopez.
