Riverside’s Bailey Fisher knocked down eight three-pointers to help the Lady Rebels overcome a sluggish performance in a 61-40 victory over Trumann Thursday night at Wildcat Gymnasium.

Both teams sleepwalked through the opening quarter, with Riverside holding a slim 7-6 edge. The Lady Rebels came out smoking from beyond the three-point arc in the second stanza, knocking down five triples, two each by Fisher and Brittney Sain, and another from Lotti Hoffman, to take a seemingly comfortable 32-18 halftime advantage.

But the Lady Wildcats stormed out of the gate in the third quarter, scoring 12 unanswered points to close the gap to 32-30 at the 4:17 mark. Kayla Spence opened and closed the Trumann scoring barrage with two deep three pointers. Fisher finally got Riverside’s first points of the second half with a long three of her own with 4:04 remaining, and followed with three more long range bombs to close the quarter, putting the lady Rebels back on top, 44-30.

Riverside continued to pull away from Trumann in the final frame, and finished the game with a 21-point victory. The win pushes the Lady Rebels’ season record to 21-1.
