Manila Middle School honors veterans

Veterans were honored guests at the Manila Middle School Veteran's Day ceremony and luncheon.

In conjunction with Veterans Day 2017, Manila Middle School honored veterans with a ceremony and luncheon.

Students lined the walkway not only to direct but to thank the veterans as they arrived at MMS.

Several students took part in the welcoming ceremony giving special tributes to the men and women who have served their country.

Students gave tributes to the veterans for the freedom they enjoy.

The MMS choir, under the direction of Misty Humway, sang several songs including the Star Spangled Banner, America and In My Heart.

The Boy Scouts presented the Colors. TAPS was played by Elizabeth Barks.

Students served a luncheon to the veterans and their guests.

The tables were decorated in red, white and blue with thank you placemats made by the students.

State Representative Johnny Rye attended the event thanking the veterans for their service.
