Jason Stewart elected BIC Board president

Buffalo Island Central School Board members elected Jason Stewart to serve as board president for the 2017-2018 school year. Other elected officers are Stacey Thomas, vice president; and Justin Hawkins, secretary.

Superintendent Gaylon Taylor recognized the efforts of the drama sponsors and cast for an outstanding job in their production of “The Beverly Hillbillies.” The event was well attended with over 200 individuals present for both productions.

The board voted unanimously to hire John Stull as bus driver and maintenance/transportation director for the Leachville campus.

The board accepted a disclosure form stating employees Patricia Duffel and Melinda Wells are part owners of Monette Feed and Hardware Co.

The board approved the list of employees who received five percent or more increases in salaries.

The board voted to allow Nabholtz Construction to replace the existing metal siding on the Mustang Athletic complex to match the new construction at a cost of $100,486.82.

The board also voted to purchase a square post building from Overman Buildings to be constructed on the East campus at a price of $8,620.
