Lake City Council approves bonuses and hires police officer

Lake City Council approved end of the year employee bonuses and approved the hiring of a police officer at the Oct. 24 meeting.

Mayor Jon Milligan asked the Council to consider end of year bonus for employees and gave last year’s figures. The Council voted unanimously to approve the end of the year bonus of $450 for the mayor, clerk, and all full time employees and $250 for part time employees with Lisa Sitz being reviewed in December for a bonus.

Following an executive session, the council voted unanimously to hire Aaron Bupp as police officer for the Lake City Police Department. Employment will begin Nov. 5 with an annual salary of $32,500, 90 day probation, and giving Mr. Bupp 90 days to move to Lake City.

City Clerk Linda Simpson read Resolution No. 2017-10-24, approving the city millage tax of 1.6 mills on the dollar for the year of 2018.

The next meeting will be held Nov. 20.
