Farming for Research event held in Monette

A reception was held Friday, Oct. 27, at the Legion Hut in Monette for participants in the 2017 “Farming For Research” breast cancer awareness/ fundraising event.

Local farmers were encouraged to pledge a per bale amount for cotton produced and gins in the area participating include Black Oak Gin, Kiech-Shauver-Miller Gin, Childress Gin, Southland Gin and Monette Co-op.

Pledged amounts will be collected in early December and will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. So far, pledges have exceeded $3,000.

All donations are welcome and can be made through the Breast Cancer Research Foundation website under “Farming For Research” specific fundraiser or through the above gins.
