Rivercrest thumps Lions 48-6

Kentavious Robinson exploded for 213 yards and five touchdowns as Rivercrest crushed Manila 48-6 in senior high football action Friday night at Wilson.

Robinson hit pay-dirt with scoring runs of six and one yards in the opening quarter to put the Colts on top 14-0.

Robinson’s 11-yard touchdown scamper early in the second period upped the Rivercrest lead to 20-0. Quarterback Demilon Brown hooked up with receiver J.D. WInda on a 65-yard touchdown strike at the 10:33 mark of the second quarter, giving the Colts a 27-0 advantage.

Lane Sims got the Lions on the scoreboard with a 23-yard touchdown dash with 6:18 left in the half, trimming the Colt advantage to 27-6. Robinson added another score on a one-yard plunge with just 22 seconds left before intermission to put the Colts on top, 34-6.

Robinson scored his fifth touchdown of the night on a two-yard run at the 9:39 mark of the third quarter, upping the Colt lead to 41-6. De’Kes Slayton capped off the scoring with an 11-yard run with 5:45 left in the game, giving Rivercrest a 48-6 lead.

The Colt defense was also strong, holding Manila to just 88 yards total offense, including 18 on the ground. Sims finished the night with 70 yards passing.

Manila will close out the regular season Thursday night when they play host to Newport.
