Lions to dish up chili Saturday

The Manila Lions Club Chili Cook-off will be held Saturday, Oct. 7. Vendors and chili teams will set up along Dewey Street.

Anyone interested in having a booth or a cooking team can contact any Lion Club member. Forms are available at Southern Bancorp and TC Restaurant in Manila.

The fee for a chili cooking team is $20 and for vendor booths $30.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the first ($500), second ($300) and third ($200) place winners in the chili cooking division.

Lions set the price at $5 a bowl and $2 for a soft drink/water. Chili should be ready by 10 a.m.

There will be entertainment at the bandstand throughout the day as well as activities for the younger set.
