Margaret Ann Roddy Ratliff

Margaret Ann Roddy Ratliff, 85, of Dixie passed from this life on Sunday, September 17, 2017 in St. Louis. She was born to the late Walter Joe Roddy and Bonnie Nisbett Roddy on April 29, 1932 in Jonesboro. In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ratliff; sisters, Laura Jean Roddy Watson and Bonnie Patricia Roddy Spurlock.

Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed taking part in the FUMC Prayer Shawl Ministry and Care Team. She also was a Pink Lady Volunteer for NEA Baptist Hospital for 22 years. She worked in the gift shop and the information desk, but she really enjoyed helping the families in the ICU waiting room.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Debbie Whitney (Gary) of Dixie; granddaughter, Tara Bellomy (David) of Jonesboro; grandson, Adam Whitney of Dixie; great grandson, Carlos “Charlie” Whitney of Puebla, Mexico; brother, Bill Roddy of Jonesboro; and sisters, Peggy Jumper of Eads, Tenn., and Sadie Berg of Jonesboro.

A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017, with Rev. Patty Soward officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
