Monette Manor resident Pauline Payne turns 101

Ms. Pauline Payne turned 101 years old on Aug. 17, 2017. Ms. Payne has been a resident at Monette Manor for two years.

Staff, residents, family and friends joined Ms. Payne at Monette Manor to celebrate her birthday.

She had several guests join her for lunch and then cake and punch were served with many birthday wishes.

Stories and memories filled the room.

I've started all over, Ms. Pauline said. I am only 1.

Her family commented on how they still ask her for information on family history and events of the past.

Ms. Payne moved to the Buffalo Island area in 1929 with her family. She was one of five children born to Mr. and Mrs. Jodie Higginbottom.

She married Albert Payne in 1935. They are the parents of two children, Bob Payne and the late Bonnie Payne Fletcher.

Ms. Payne enjoyed a long career in banking before her retirement.
