Steve Allen Bowman

Steve Allen Bowman, 66, of Leachville, died Thursday, June 22, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Roseland, he was the son of the late Odis and Mildred Crawford Bowman and had been a lifelong area resident. Steve was a 1968 graduate of Wilson High School and had spent many years in law enforcement. He had worked for the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department, Leachville Police Department and Manila Police Department. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his friends at Cornermart in Leachville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Don Bowman, Charles Bowman and Gary Bowman, and two sisters, Shirley Sammons and Peggy Brooks.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Hamilton Bowman of the home; eight daughters, Melissa Bishop, Michelle Wagner Robinson, Heidi Bowman, Tara Bowman, Robbie Skaggs, Shonda Stone, Summer Stone and Amy Mangrum McCarther; two brothers, Bill Bowman and Wayne Bowman; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service were 2 p.m. Sunday, June 25, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial followed in Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David Sammons, Bruce Sammons, Brian Hamby, Donnie Bowman, Michael Skaggs and Steven Hamilton.

The family received visitors Sunday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
