Kathryn Lewis Branscum

Kathryn Lewis Branscum, 93, passed Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at St. Elizabeth’s Place in Jonesboro. She was born July 6, 1923, in Lake City and lived most of her life in Caraway. Kathryn was a wonderful homemaker and loved gardening and cooking. She was always more than willing to share the fruits of her labor with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Branscum; parents, Nora and S.F. Lewis; a brother, S.F. Lewis, Jr.; three sisters, Virginia Henry, Marguerite Johnson and Josephine Garner.

She is survived by her children, James D. Branscum (Mary) of Jonesboro; Sharon Thomas and Betty Barnes (Dewey), all of Jonesboro; a grandson, Eric Branscum (Amy) of Jonesboro; two great-grandsons, Braden and Bryson also of Jonesboro; a sister, Betty Phillips of Walnut Ridge, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was from 1-2 p.m. Friday, June 16, at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

A celebration of her life was held at 2 p.m. Friday at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with John Shadowens officiating. Interment followed at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Lasting memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
