Veterans remembered during Monette Memorial Day Ceremony

The Monette American Legion Post 136 hosted a Memorial Day tribute to veterans, on Sunday, May 28, at the Monette Cemetery.

Post Commander Brandon Decker welcomed the veterans and their families in attendance. Program participants included Rev. Jerry Reed and guest speakers Brett Foster and Dusty Joe Harrell, with veteran dog Chico.

Color Guard participants included Larry Rolland carrying the U.S. flag and Bob George carrying the Veteranís of Foreign Wars flag. Dick Pace and Robert Chambers served as arms bearers.

Robin Ashley, Bill Craig, Ronnie Qualls, Brandonm Decker, Wes Cornish, Dick Pace, Robert Chambers and Larry Rolland presented the Honor Guard gun salute.

The Honor Guard fired three volleys to honor veterans, alive and deceased. The Honor Guard consisted of Robin Ashley, Sergeant of Arms, Bill Craig Ronnie Qualls, Brandon Decker, Wes Cornish, Dick Pace, Robert Chambers and Larry Rolland. Marie George played Taps following the salute.
