Lake City Spring Fest 2017 held

Lake City Spring Fest held Saturday, June 10.

The weather was perfect for the Lake City Spring Fest held on Saturday, June 10, with vendors, entertainment, food, car show, 5K run, and much more.

Committee members Dana Grimes, Daniel Haynes, Harmony Cash, Tammy Davis and Beth Adams expressed their appreciation to everyone who participated. The event was originally scheduled for May 20 and had to be postponed due to inclement weather.

A Spring Festival Pageant was held prior to the festival day raising over $900 for Autism.

The day was kicked off with a 5K run for Autism.

The overall winners in the 5K run were, Craighead County treasurer Terry McNatt, first place; Legendary Road Racer Dan Ring, second place; and Riverside School District Superintendent Jeff Priest, third place.

A youth bake off was held, sponsored by Riverside Pharmacy. Winners included Emerson Holden making coconut almond macaroon cookies in the younger division and Lindee Mulholland winning with her chocolate chip cookies. Runners-up were Breinna Kelso and Ashton Irwin.

A car show was held with old and new vehicles on display. Mayor's Choice, People's Choice, Ladies' Choice and Kids' Choice were awarded.

Taking the stage were the Praise Band from the Lake City First Baptist Church, a tribute by Shirley Long, Drive South Band of Paragould; The Silver Rock Band from Caraway/Lake City; and White Raven from Lake City.
