Riverside School Board meeting was held in the new administration building located on Highway 18, across from the high school.

The Riverside School Board discussed several different agendas ranging from a new cross country team, personnel resignations as well as a new floor bid in an abbreviated meeting Monday, June 5. The meeting took place in the new administration building located on Highway 18, across from the high school.

Superintendent Jeff Priest announced the Riverside School District would start its first cross country team beginning in the fall. Riverside offers such sports as: baseball, softball, basketball, bowling, golf, soccer, tennis, wrestling, track and field as well as cheer.

“We already have several different sports for the children to participate in and this will be a great addition to what we already have going on,” Priest said.

The board passed a motion 5-0 that would allow existing coach Ben Hogard to assume the role as the new cross country coach.

“I’m sure most of you know that Hogard lives in Reyno and has been coaching about three sports for us (assistant girls basketball, assistant track and baseball),” Priest said. “Hogard would like to resign from girls basketball in order to free up time to take on the new cross country role in the fall.”
