R.B. Johnson

R.B. Johnson, 75, of West Memphis, passed from this life, Saturday, June 10, 2017, at his home. Born in Dell, he was the son of the late R.V. and Ada Southern Johnson and was raised in the Lost Cane community near Manila. R.B. was a 1960 graduate of Manila High School and had lived in West Memphis since 1971. He was a retired, self-employed trucker, having owned and operated R.B. Johnson Trucking for many years. He was a longtime member of the New Life Pentecostal Church in Marion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Johnson, Hoyt Johnson and Darrell Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jeanette Wells Johnson of the home; one son, Christopher "Shane" Johnson (Carla) of Marion; one daughter, Pamela Cannon of West Memphis; two brothers, Jim Johnson of Mayfield, Ky., and Travis Wayne Johnson of Cordova, Tenn. He also leaves six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Philip Flowers, Rev. B.A. Crawford and Floyd Winstead officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Austin Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Landon Griggs, Robert Morquecho, Dominick Morquecho and Danny McFadden.
