Manila's Farmers Market draws crowd
Manila Business Women hosted a farmers market Saturday on Dewey Street in front of the Depot with 35 vendors and lots of visitors.
Members of the Manila Business Women expressed their appreciation to the vendors, sponsors, and everyone who attended making the day a success.
Vendors with food, crafts, services, fresh vegetables, bake sales, face painting, tee shirts, plants, flowers, honey, eggs, books, coloring for the children and more gave visitors a great chance to browse, sample and purchase items available.
Vendors paid a fee of $20 which went to the Manila Business Women. They were able to keep all they made from their sales. Manila Business Women support community projects throughout the year and give scholarships to seniors.
“We would like to have at least one and maybe more farmers markets,” Iris Poteet, member of Manila Business Women, said.
It was a great way for the community to come together and allow small businesses to share their merchandise and let people know about their services.
