Adams egg hunt draws large crowd

The Adams Estate in Leachville was filled with children of all ages on Saturday morning for the

annual egg hunt. The weather was perfect for the children enjoy the morning with the Easter Bunny, hunt eggs, prizes, crafts, and refreshments.

Tina Adams, one of the event's organizers, welcomed everyone thanking all of the volunteers.

The different age groups enjoyed scooping up the 16,000 eggs at the different age division areas across the beautiful estate. There were 125 Golden Egg prizes, 1,000 give-a-ways, 400 cupcakes, and lots to do with a craft area, face painting and much more.

The event was not only fun for the children, it benefited the Leachville Food Pantry. Admission was non-perishable food items or a $5 donation. All proceeds will go to the local Food Pantry.

Adams expressed her appreciation to the Batesville Master Gardening Club for their donation of $400 for the event. The Club recently visited Adams Estate.

Several volunteers with the Leachville Foundation and other volunteers helped throughout the morning.

Clean sweep at Caraway's Easter Egg Hunt

It was a clean sweep in two minutes and 20 seconds as thousands of colorful eggs were gathered by kids of all ages at annual Caraway Easter Egg Hunt held on Saturday.

Organizer Kenny Weathers welcomed everyone. Funds to support the event included a Boston Butt sale. Weathers thanked the volunteers for helping with the project and the community for their support by purchasing the Boston Butts.

He thanked Kenneth Faulkner, Rodney Jackson, Leland Dowless, Cody and McKinlee Weathers for their help with the cooking and Ronnie Hurst, Dan Sullivan, woody Priest, Miller Farms Family and Merett Emery for their donations.

Caraway Mayor Barry Riley expressed his appreciation to everyone for their support in the community. Attending this year's hunt were Representative Dan Sullivan and his wife, Marie, and Senator Dave Wallace and his wife, Karen. The crowd got to enjoy Sen. Wallace singing happy birthday to Rep. Sullivan at the bandstand.

It was a successful hunt with lots of eggs, 15 grand prizes, prizes for all the participants.
