Lady Mustangs fall at Marmaduke
Marmaduke clinched the number one seed in the upcoming district tournament with a doubleheader sweep Monday afternoon over Buffalo Island Central. The Lady Greyhounds won the opener 10-0 when Sammi Henry fired a three-inning no-hitter. Henry also went 2-2 with a double. In the nightcap, Henry was the star again, tossing a two-hitter while singling in a pair of runs in Marmaduke's 5-1 victory.
BIC traveled to Lepanto Tuesday and loss to East Poinsett County 6-4. Lexie Ray's two-run homer gave BIC a 4-3 lead entering the bottom of the sixth, but Sarah Tacker drilled a three-run double in the bottom of the inning to give the Lady Warriors the win.Olivia Cornish and Heather Sipes added two hits apiece for the Lady Mustangs.
BIC split a doubleheader with Cross County Thursday afternoon at Monette. Cross County took the opener 6-5 before the Lady Mustangs routed the Lady Thunderbirds 11-1 in the nightcap.
BIC returns to action Monday at Armorel and closes the week with home games Thursday and Friday against Armorel and Riverside respectively.
