Charles A. Hamm, 75, of Manila, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, in Wilson. Charles was born to Ernest and Mary (Council) Hamm. He worked in maintenance for the Rivercrest School District. Charles was a strong Christian man and was a member of Grace Life Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved his farm animals, hunting and fishing. Charles never met a stranger and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Emma Lou Wagner Hamm; his parents; and a daughter, Betty Jean Gentry.

Charles leaves five children, Sandra Jean Martin of Monette, Therald James Martin, Jr. (Teresia) of Richmond, Texas, Michael Allen Martin of Oklahoma, Kathryn Patricia Williams of Jonesboro, and Charles Christopher Hamm (DeeAnn) of Centerton, Ark.; one brother, Ernest "Sonny" Hamm (Linda) of Savannah, Tenn.; one brother-in-law, Tenner Wagner; five sisters-in-law, Eve Wagner, Linda Cathey, Mickie Orr, Mary Mosley (Charles), and Dian Lucas (J.E.); 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19, at 3:30 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Allan Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Cobb Funeral Home.
