Monette City Council prepares to complete plans for parking lot
Monette City Council held a special meeting Friday April 7 to discuss options to build a parking lot following the removal of the old Nettleton house recently acquired by the city.
The parking lot will be used for various city needs. The council decided against a quote for $38,450 to cover the lot with gravel. Concerns for the safety of residents who may need to cross the lot to get to the storm shelter led to the decision to use asphalt.
Mayor Jerry Chub Qualls made plans to contact Barker Brothers for a blacktop quote. Alderman Kristian Nuckles offered to speak with API for a price as well.
The next Monette City Council meeting is scheduled April 24.
