Caraway's retiring fire chief honored with reception
Scott Browning was surprised on Saturday, April 1, with a reception in his honor for his years of service to the Caraway Fire Department.
Browning has served as a Caraway firefighter for 18 years serving as Chief since 2012.
Browning retired earlier than originally planned due to an injury sustained in November of 2015.
"I appreciate them for letting me serve," Browning said. "It has been an honor to be on the fire department and serve the citizens of Caraway. I hate that I am having to retire early."
Fellow fireman Bo James did the grilling for the luncheon.
Caraway Mayor Barry Riley presented a Mayoral Proclamation in recognition of Browning's service to the city. Browning received a framed copy of the proclamation and a plaque from the city and fire department. His fellow firemen presented him with a barbecue grill as a retirement gift.
