Lady Lions fall to Brookland and Osceola
Manila's Lady Lions dropped a pair of blended conference games last week, losing to Brookland 72-32 on Monday, followed by a 47-29 loss Thursday night at Osceola.
Brookland placed four players in double figures, getting 11 points each from Taylor Hammett, Kalifa Ford and Hannah Lovrien. Mallorie Lovrien added 10.
Manila was led by Tessa Pannells and Madison Bibbs, who both scored five points. Hannah Teague, Sydney Adcock and Micah Beach all netted four points apiece. Jordan Tyler and Kaitlyn Adams tallied three points each while Hannah McQueen and Presley Pierce both pitched in two points.
Brookland led 16-6 after the first period, 37-11 at the half and 53-20 entering the final frame.
In junior high action, Brookland stormed past Manila 49-13. Hannah Boling led Brookland with 10 points. Anna Grace Adams topped the Lady Lions with seven, Brailey Hampton scored four while Alissa Delong added two points.
Hannah McQueen's nine points led Manila in their loss at Osceola. Pierce had six, Teague and Pannells contributed three points apiece while Adams, Beach, Bibbs and Hannah May all chipped in two points.
In the junior high contest, Manila slipped past Osceola 34-28. Hampton paced the Lions with 14 while Adams scored nine. Kaitlyn Weather dropped in five, Grace Wilkins tallied four while Vivian Pryor added two points.
The Lady Lions return to action Monday night at home against Harrisburg before traveling to Trumann for a Thursday night contest.
