Riverside School Board met Jan. 2 to discuss district business

Riverside Superintendent Jeff Priest shared plans with board members to travel to Little Rock Jan. 11 to make a bid for regional tournamet. The first meeting of the 2017 was held on Monday, Jan. 2.

"You never know until you get there," Priest said. "I think we've got a really good shot."

Eighth and fourth grade students will receive a Chromebook in the new semester.

Seventh grade students are expected to receive Chromebooks in the next school year. Following the distribution, plans of fourth through 12th grades having one-on-one access to Chromebooks will be complete.

Following an executive session, the Board extended the contract of Superintendent Priest for two years at the same rate.

The next Riverside School Board meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 6 on the Lake City campus.
