Lady Rebels cruise past Rivercrest and Trumann

Riverside Lady Rebels, fresh off an NEA Tournament championship, continued their winning ways by hammering Trumann 59-16 Thursday night at Lake City.

The Lady Rebels put nine players in the scoring column, led by Haven Robertson's game high 22. Riverside sprinted to a 10-0 lead to begin the game, getting points from four different players, before Robertson finished off the quarter with a three-point play to hand the Lady Rebels a 16-4 lead after the first break.

Robertson teamed with Brittany Sain to score 12 second period points as Riverside expanded its lead to 30-10 at intermission.

The Lady Rebels canned 8-9 free throw attempts while Mallory Felton banged home a triple during third quarter action as Riverside stretched its advantage to 49-14 after three periods of play.

Lotti Hoffman scored eight points, Sain had seven, Felton tallied six while Bailey Fisher and Hailey Carr chipped in four points each. Carson Smith and Briley Douglas netted three points apiece while Whitney Wagganor pitched in two points. The Lady Rebels hit 18-25 foul shots and dropped in four three pointers. Riverside forced Trumann into a whopping 22 turnovers.

In junior high action, Riverside defeated Trumann 36-29. Lexi Hall led the Lady Rebels with 14 points while Grace Ann Puckett chipped in 11. Beaner Hoffman tallied seven while Carmen Campell added four.

Riverside kicked off the new year with a 59-38 win over Rivercrest Monday night on the road. The Lady Rebels held leads of 15-9 after the first quarter, 30-28 at the half and 45-30 entering the final frame.

Robertson nailed four three pointers and finished the night with a game high 29 points to lead the Lady Rebels. Fisher contributed eight, Sain and Wagganor scored seven points apiece while Smith and Hoffman tallied four points each.

In junior high play, Riverside downed the Lady Colts 38-26. Puckett scored 10, Hoffman, Campbell and Alexis Courtney all tallied six points each, Hall netted four while Ashlyn Wright and Anna Meurer pitched in three points apiece.

Riverside returns to action Monday night with a road trip to Brookland. The Lady Rebels will play host to Manila Thursday night at Lake City.
