Freddie William Stutts, 72, of Manila, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center. Born Dec. 25, 1943, in Manila, he was the son of the late Hubert and Ruby Williams Stutts and was raised in the Caraway area. Fred was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam war and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He served 26 years in the Air Force and later retired from the Internal Revenue Service. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, James Earl Stutts.

Survivors include his companion of over 20 years, Shirley Davison of Manila; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Mandi Stutts of Manila; three grandsons, Derek Stutts, Landon Stutts and Seth Stutts.

He also leaves a sister, Deloris Spikes, of Las Vegas, Nev.

Graveside funeral service was 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, in the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Greg Smith officiating. Burial with full military honors was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family received friends from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Members of the Honor Detail served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers included Derek Stutts, Landon Stutts, Seth Stutts, Ernie Malloy, William Walker and Jacob Walker.
