Lady Rebels roll past Manila 73-43

Riverside traveled to Manila Monday night and came away with a 73-43 victory over the Lady Lions in senior girls basketball action. The Lady Rebels took a 16-10 lead after the opening quarter and held a 36-25 advantage at the half. Riverside increased its lead to 54-37 after three periods of play.

Bailey Fisher buried seven three pointers and finished with a game high 25 points to lead the Lady Rebels. Brittany Sain and Lotti Hoffman chipped in 11 points apiece, Haven Robertson scored 10, Whitney Wagganor tallied nine, Mallory Felton, Briley Douglas and Hailey Carr added two points each while Carson Smith pitched in one point. Riverside connected on 10-13 foul shots and drained 12 three pointers.

Tessa Pannells topped Manila with 13, Hannah Teague netted 12, Hannah McQueen had eight, Jordan Tyler scored five, Jordyn Wheeler contributed three while Sydney Adcock chipped in two points.

In junior high play, Riverside defeated Manila 44-28. Grace Ann Puckett scored a game high 16 points to lead the Lady Rebels. Beaner Hoffman tallied 11, Lexi Hall scored eight, Carmen Campbell tallied six while Alexis and Autumn Courtney chipped in two points each.

Brailey Hampton paced the Lady Lions with 10 points. Anna Grace Adams scored nine, Anna Beth Baugher tallied six while Ashten Wallace and Sadie Massey chipped in one point apiece.

Riverside hosted Osceola Thursday night and pushed their record to 8-3 with a 53-33 victory over the Lady Seminoles. Robertson led Riverside with 13 points while Hattie Milligan added 11 points.

In junior high action, Beaner Hoffman's 15 point performance propelled the Lady Rebels to a 58-37 win. The victory upped Riverside's record to 14-3 overall and 2-0 in league play.

The Lady Rebels will play host to Gosnell Monday night at Lake City. Riverside will participate in the Gerald Jennings Classic Saturday when they take on Batesville in a 5:30 p.m. contest at Lake City.

Manila traveled to Brookland Thursday night and lost 55-26 to the Lady Bearcats. Brookland also took the junior high game, 43-22.

The Lady Lions will play Osceola Monday night at Lion Gym before traveling to Harrisburg Thursday night. Manila will take on Marked Tree at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Gerald Jennings Classic at Lake City.
