Rosalee Walton, 94, of Lake Cit, passed from this life Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at the Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. Born in Pocahontas, she was the daughter of the late B.D. and Florence Jones and was raised in the Black Oak and Monette areas. She married her husband, Ray Walton, May 6, 1939, and she lived in the Chicago area while her husband served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following the war the couple returned to Monette until 1967, then returned to Illinois for nearly 40 years, before retiring to Lake City in 2007. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Walton, a son, Randy Walton, two grandsons, Kip Walton and Gary Walton, Jr., four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Judy Walton of Lockport, Ill., Bobby and Sue Walton of Manila, Gary and Marlene Walton of Ozark; seven grandchildren, Mike Davis, Steve Walton, Julie Stasiak, Holly Bird, Jason Walton, Alicia Solinger and Andrew Walton; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday Dec. 2, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Mr. Josh Parnell and Rev. Rusty Bird officiating. Burial will follow in Monette Memorial Cemetery.

Grandsons and great-grandsons served as pallbearers.

The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
