Farming for a Cure
Black Oak Gin held a reception recently for area breast cancer survivors. Over 30 guests and staff gathered at the gin with breast cancer survivors being honored and presented with pink sashes.
Ronnie and Kathy Qualls and Bishop and Brooke Whitley headed the campaign by purchasing the pink wrapping for cotton bales. Proceeds from the pink wrapping goes to help in breast cancer research for a cure.
"This was our first year at Black Oak Gin to have the breast cancer awareness event," Manager Cheryl Luther said. "We appreciate everyone who attended to join in the fight for a cure."
The refreshment table was decorated in pink. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
