Jimmy Darrell Peel

Jimmy Darrell Peel, 67, of Leachville, passed from this life Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in the Happy Corner Community, near Leachville, he was the son of the late Adron and Lorene Loftin Peel and was a lifelong area resident. He retired in 2014, after 45 years as a heavy equipment operator for the Mississippi County Road Department. Jimmy enjoyed hunting and fishing and was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Jeanne Peel of Cardwell, Mo.; one sister and brother-in-law, Melba and John Ward of Batesville; seven nephews and two nieces.

Funeral service was 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with David Ward and Gary Cupp officiating. Burial followed in Leachville Cemetery. The family received visitors Sunday afternoon from 12:30 until service time.

Nephews served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers included Jerry Yates, Chester Jetton, Lee Jetton, Bob Langston, Scott Hutchison and Jace Cagle.
