Manila High School Class of 1966 gathered to celebrate their 50th reunion on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16-17.

Class members met on the MHS campus Friday afternoon and enjoyed walking the halls and shooting some baskets in the old gymnasium.

They toured the Manila museums and remembered the fun times of growing up in Manila.

The group met Friday night at La Cascada Restaurant in Manila. Afterward, they gathered at the home of Gerald and Feggie Bebout for homemade ice cream and cookies.

The class released a luminary in honor of the 10 classmates who have passed away since graduation. Class of 1966 member, Bill Faulkner, played Amazing Grace on the trumpet as the class reflected on their memories of their classmates. Special guests representing their husbands were Gail Ramsey, wife of Terry Ramsey; Kim Kelton, wife of Donnie Kelton; and Jerri Stutts, wife of Nick Stutts. Other classmates honored include Eugene Payton, Ronnie Nance, Dale Poag, Harville Baker, Jr., Tommy Wiseman, Paulette Robbins Smith and Melvin McCain.

Classmates gathered Saturday at the Depot for lunch and reminiscing.
