Leachville Harvest Festival events told

Leachville Harvest Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, with all day events starting with a parade at 10 a.m.

There will be gospel music, hot dog eating contest, cutest pet pageant, multimedia scavenger hunt, horseshoe tournament, lip sync battle, cake walk, water balloon toss, inflatables for the kids, old cars, poker run, train rides, Miss Mess contest, three on three basketball tournament, area bands, prizes, crafts, food, a street dance and other activities.

There will be prize drawings throughout the day.

Also, on Friday evening there will be a "drag main." Participants are asked to bring school supplies to fill backpacks. The items will be donated to the BIC School. Dragging main, just like in the old days, will begin at 7 p.m. at the Malt Shop and end at 8:30.

Also, a poker run will be held beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. The first bike will go out at 8 a.m. and the last one will be in by noon.

"Main street will be filled with vendors to help make the day a great success," Lisa Baldridge, festival chairman, said. "The committee members have done a great job working to make this a great day for Leachville and the surrounding area.
