Buffalo Island Relay for Life Appreciation Nite held in Manila

American Cancer Society Relay for Life Community Representative Ashley Hennessey awards Ethan Green a plaque for raising the most money.

Buffalo Island Relay for Life teams hosted an appreciation night Saturday, Aug. 20, honoring cancer survivors and caregivers with dinner at the Manila Airport Center.

In addition to dinner, guests had the opportunity to take part in a silent auction and a live auction with Greg Stallings volunteering to serve as auctioneer. Stallings kept the bidding lively reminding guests it was all for a good cause.

Proceeds from the event go to the American Cancer Society.

Greg Stallings volunteered to serve as auctioneer for the Buffalo Island Relay for Life live auction.

Teams participating included All Out, Burrough, Cook and McDowell Family, and Faith Funeral Home.

Ethan Green, All Out, received a plaque for raising the most money. He raised $1,081.15 at the auction and food booth. He has raised a total of $1,695.16.

Burrough, Cook and McDowell Family received the second place plaque for raising $386.60 for the night making a total of $1,051.27.

Janie Singleton with Faith Funeral Home team received third place raising $95 on the live auction for a total of $1,029.67.

The overall money raised by all teams and events to date is $10,212.50.
