Mary Margaret Blackwood

Mary Margaret Blackwood, 83, of Blytheville, former longtime Manila resident, passed from this life Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at the Gosnell Therapy and Living Center. Born in Manila, she was the daughter of the late William Cecil and Clytie Winstead Woolard, and was the widow of Mr. William Blackwood. She enjoyed being a homemaker and a mother. In 1978 she earned her GED and later worked with her daughter as a bookkeeper for the family business, ProCare Medical in Blytheville. Mrs. Blackwood was a longtime member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Manila.

She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Hunt of Hornersville, Mo., and Debbie Smith and husband, Steve of Blytheville; two grandsons, Ronnie Dunavin and Dereck Smith and wife Shandala. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Addison Smith, Tatum Smith and Paige Richardson.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Manila with Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family will receive visitors Sunday afternoon from 12:30 until service time at the church.
