Caraway looks into community website
During the July 14 City Council meeting Caraway Mayor Barry Riley shared plans of an employee appreciation lunch for Margaret Glidewell. The employee luncheon will be held July 22 at city hall in honor of Glidewell's more than 26 years of service to the city of Caraway.
Lisa Anderson was hired in place of Glidewell as City Water Clerk with a salary of $18,720.
The Council expressed thanks to Robby Williams and everyone involved in the success of the 2016 Fourth of July celebrations.
"I never heard a negative comment about our Fourth of July, whatsoever," said Mayor Riley. "Hats off to them. They did a really good job."
A website for the city may be in the near future. Mayor Riley spoke with a company out of Little Rock and is close to narrowing down the decision to begin and maintain the site. Alderman Mitchel Tipton shared information of a Jonesboro company that may work as well.
The Board shared its interest in information the site will offer to the public along with the possibility of alerts and bans as they occur. Mayor Riley shared his intention to look further into the options available.
