The Manila Lions Club members held election/installation of officers and annual banquet Monday, June 27, at TC's Restaurant in Manila.

Past District Governor Pat Snodgrass and wife, Anita, were guests for the evening, along with spouses of Lions and members of the Manila Business Women.

Lion Dan Robbins introduced Snodgrass, the keynote speaker. Robbins expressed the members' appreciation to Snodgrass for being part of the annual officer installation.

"He is what Lionism is all about," Robbins said. "He has set the bar high."

Snodgrass spoke briefly on the offices in the Lions Club and the importance of working together as a team.

"Your club shows respect, they serve their community, you have a good Leo Club coming on and it is a pleasure for me to be here," Snodgrass said.

The officers for 2016-2017 include: Jim Mills, president; Wendell Poteet, first vice president; Tony Crowell, second vice president; Danny Robbins, secretary; Matt Noble, treasurer; Gary Perkins, tail twister; Wayne Shedd, Lion tamer. Directors are Jackie Eddings, Terry Carr and Randy Frakes.

The Lions Club will sponsor the annual chili cook-off Oct. 8.
