Arrest made in Lake City homicide

According to Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd, a 17 year old male, Jacob Thomas Craig, was arrested Sunday, May 1, in the connection of the murder of Lake City resident Jimmy Hall.

The suspect appeared before Judge Keith Blackman Monday afternoon for a probable cause hearing. He was charged with first degree murder and will be charged as an adult. Bond was set at $1 million.

The victim, 73 year old Hall, was found by a family member at his home on Craighead County Road 801, Lake City, Friday at approximately 3:30 p.m. A suspected homicide, based on the scene, led detectives to work throughout the weekend. Investigators were able to recover evidence at the scene to send to the crime lab for further investigation.

No other suspects are being sought at this time.

"It is an ongoing investigtion and there are details we cannot release at this time," Sheriff Boyd said.

They are awaiting an official autopsy report but they believe Hall died from stab wounds.
