BIC's Cason Rose wins state and South Central essay contest

The 108th State Conference of the Arkansas Daughter of American Revolution was held in Little Rock March 17-19.

Honored guest was Mrs. Lynn Young, president general from Texas.

Cason Rose, fifth grade student at Buffalo Island Central, was awarded the first place state winner in the American History contest. She is also the South Central winner. She was sponsored by the Jonesboro Chapter.

Members from the Jonesboro Chapter attending were Elizabeth Redmon, Gale Markley, Jo Ann Cooper, Sarah Dacus, Lonnie Craft, Robin Yates, Carolyn Atkinson and associate member Vive Allen.

Ben Atkinson, SAR member, served in the color guard for opening ceremonies.
