Hazel Nadine Duffel, 87, of Monette, passed from this life Friday, April 8, 2016, at her home. Born in Hazen, she was the daughter of the late Otha and Essie Eiland Putt and had been a Monette area resident for over 60 years. A devoted and faithful Christian, she was a longtime member of the former Childress Baptist Church and read her bible daily. She loved gardening, knitting and working crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Raymond Duffel, two brothers, Cleveland Putt and Horace Putt, and a son-in-law, Troy Wayne Guiltner.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Syrena Duffel of Monette; two daughters, Janette Guiltner and Velda Henderson and husband, William, all of Monette; two sisters, Darlene Sherrill of Kennett, Mo., and Marcelle Davis of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 11, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev Shawn McElhannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunklin Memorial Gardens in Kennett.

Pallbearers will be Michael Guiltner, Justin Guiltner, Kevin Guiltner, Andrew Guiltner, Curtis Henderson and Jason Duffel. Honorary pallbearers include Terry Guiltner, Joe Henderson, Greg Sherrill, Chris Duffel, Bobby Tucker and William Henderson.

The family received visitors Sunday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.
