Gary Don Hurst

Gary Don "GD" Hurst, 55, of Caraway passed from this life Sunday, March 27, 2016, at St. Bernards Medical Center after a brave and courageous year-long battle with cancer. He was born May 27, 1960, in Caraway to Matt Hurst and the late Gouilda Dunkerson Hurst. GD served four years in the Navy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. GD was a people person and would help anybody that needed it. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had such an infectious laughter that no one could forget.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Anita Hurst; two daughters, Felisha (Mike) Sanders and Tricia (Lee) Austin; parents, Matt and Mildred Hurst; five brothers, Jeff (Diana) Hinton, Danny (Judy) Hurst, Ronnie (Kim) Hurst, Terry (Brandy) Hinton and Phillip (Bobbie Sue) Hurst; two sisters, Gail (Mike) Riley and Andra (Keith) Pendegraft; five grandchildren, Lana Sanders, Shayna Austin, Tristan Sanders, Annabelle Austin and Parker Austin; numerous nieces and nephews and many "adopted" sons and daughters.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm, Wednesday, March 30, in Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro. All other services are private.
