Manila standout linebacker-running back Aaron Carter inked a letter of intent to play football at Missouri Baptist College Thursday morning at the high school auditorium in front of family, friends, and teammates.

The 6'0" 200 pounder helped lead the Lions to their first ever state tournament appearance this past season while leading his team in tackles. Carter, known for his intensity, was a relentless pursuer on a Lion defense that helped produce several key wins including Manila's upset over Rivercrest. Carter also starred on the offensive side of the football as a hard running ball carrier who scored seven touchdowns as well as being the Lions second leading rusher. Carter was also a two time all conference performer who excelled in the classroom.

"Aaron is a great student athlete," said Lion Head Coach Jerry Castor. "He is a very hard worker who is dedicated to his task at hand. He was a key part of our state tournament team who was a big contributor on both sides of the ball.

"Missouri Baptist is getting a great young man." concluded Castor.

Carter is the son of Jason and Tracy Carter. A reception was held after the signing ceremony with family, friends, and teammates in attendance.
