Manila Nursing Center welcomes new administrator

Christie Ruhter is the new administrator at Manila Nursing Center and is looking forward to a good year.

A native of Cabot, she started working in long term care at the age of 18. She worked as a CNA and attended nursing school earning a nursing degree. She worked as a floor nurse for six years and accepted a position of nursing manager at Beebe in 2014.

She enrolled in the Arkansas Health Care Associated Administrator and Training program. Through the program she trained in all positions of long term care and went on to receive her state and federal license.

Ruhter continued working as a nursing manager for one and a half years following her training. She said she was pleased to be offered the administrator's position at Manila Nursing Center.

"I am excited to have the opportunity to come to Manila as the administrator," she said. "The staff has been very welcoming."

She has been with Reliance Health Care since 2010.

The Manila Nursing Center is a 70-bed facility.

She and husband Thomas have a 14-month-old daughter, Kennedy.
