Lady Rebels dominate BIC 47-20

Riverside rolled over Buffalo Island Central 47-20 in senior girls basketball action Monday night at Lake City.

The Lady Rebels bolted to a 16-6 lead after the opening quarter and held a commanding 24-8 advantage at the half. Riverside stretched its lead to 38-13 after three periods of play and coasted in the fourth quarter to the victory.

Haven Robertson pumped in a game high 20 points to top the Lady Rebels while Bailey Fisher chipped in 13 more. Brittany Sain and Madison Black pitched in six points apiece while Hattie Milligan added two.

Molly Hart led BIC with seven points, Blaire Wildy scored five, Jona Carmichael had four while Heather Sipes and Madison Nowlin chipped in two points apiece.

In junior high action, Riverside defeated BIC 46-22. Mallory Felton poured in a game high 19 points, including five three pointers, to pace the Lady Rebels. Lexi Hall scored seven, Briley Douglas and Ashlynn Wright tallied six points each while Grace Ann Puckett and Hailey Carr added three points apiece. Lotti Hoffman netted two points. The Lady Rebels drilled nine three pointers on the night.

Brianna Lambert led BIC with nine points. Morgan James scored six, Haddyn Hurst had four while Hanah Carle added one point.

Riverside blasted Walnut Ridge 67-44 in nonconference action Thursday night at Lake City. Robertson scored 21 points to lead three Lady Rebels in double figures. Fisher tallied 16 while Milligan chipped in 10 points. Sain contributed nine, Hannah Shinall had six while Black pitched in five points.

Sunnie Cunningham poured in a game high 25 points to lead the Lady Bobcats while Megan Jared added 12.

In junior high action, Riverside pounded Walnut Ridge 50-13 to improve to 19-6 on the year. Felton led the Lady Rebels with 18 points. Puckett tallied eight, Carmen Campbell scored seven, Carr netted six, Hall contributed four, Wright had three while Ally Pendergrass added two points.

The Lady Rebels closed the week with a 55-45 victory over McKenzie, Tenn., Saturday at Dyersburg. Riverside (16-9) was led by Robertson's 25 point performance while Fisher added 18 more.

Riverside won the eighth grade game 40-31 over Dyersburg. Hoffman led the Lady Rebels with 13 points.

Riverside will travel to Rector Monday night before hosting Earle Thursday night in a pair of 2A-3 conference matchups.

BIC finished the week with a 40-36 victory over Armorel Thursday night at the Mustang Athletic Complex.

Sipes pumped in 13 points, had nine steals and handed out six assists for the Lady Mustangs, now 8-14 on the year. Hart scored 10 points, including a six for six performance from the foul stripe in the fourth quarter to help the Lady Mustangs seal the victory.

BIC also took the junior game over the Lady Tigers, 48-21. Lambert scored a game high 22 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Lady Mustangs improved to 13-8 on the season. James chipped in 12 points.

BIC will host Cross County in 2A-3 conference play Monday night at Monette.
