Rebels manage conference split on road
Riverside split a pair of 2A-3 conference matchups last week, defeating Marmaduke 61-42 Friday night on the road after dropping a 77-67 decision to East Poinsett County Tuesday night at Lepanto.
Luke Baker pumped in 18 points to lead the Rebels past the Greyhounds. Chris Sain grabbed 11 rebounds while Gavin Stone handed out seven assists on the night.
Bryson Horton topped Marmaduke with 18 points.
The Rebels took the junior high contest 53-32 behind the 19 point performance of Steven Stroud.
EPC pulled away from a 35-35 halftime tie to take down Riverside Tuesday night. The Warriors placed four players in double figures, led by Xzavier Reed and J'Sebian Brown, who scored 19 points apiece. Clay Malone pitched in 16 while Montrell James added 14 more.
Luke Baker scored a game high 22 points to lead the Rebels, who also got double digit scoring from Grant Mason and Gavin Stone, who netted 14 and 13 points respectively.
EPC won the junior high contest 42-33 behind Jonathan Gilmore's 20 points. Luttrell Brown led the Rebels with 13.
Riverside returns to action Tuesday night when they play host to Buffalo Island Central at Lake City. The Rebels will close the week with a nonconference road trip at Bay.
