Charles "Ray" Misner

Manila -- Charles "Ray" Misner 2/23/1945 -- 1/1/2016

Charles "Ray" Misner passed unexpectedly from this life on Friday Jan. 1st, 2016, with his best friend and wife Billie Sue (Sharp) Misner by his side. Born to Marion Richard Misner and Esther May (Briggs) Misner in Hannibal, Mo., on Feb. 23, 1945. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Manila. Ray met and married Billie Sue Sharp in 1965. Their 50 year marriage was filled with love, purpose, travel and family.

Ray was an auto mechanic in the Manila area. During his lifelong career, he befriended dozens of regular customers and often performed personal favors at the drop of a hat for many who loved and appreciated him dearly. He was also a caretaker for the Manila Cemetery.

Ray felt his greatest fortune was his family and was so proud of his two sons Mark and Bill. His passion was hunting and fishing with his sons and the grandkids. He enjoyed spending time with his family at their cabin in the woods. He had a positive attitude towards life, a great sense of humor, and loved storytelling.

He leaves behind his beautiful wife Billie Sue; eldest son Mark Misner (Patti) of Manila and Bill Misner (Gena) of Monette; three brothers Billy Misner of Moraine, Ohio, George Misner of Cookeville, Tenn., and Wayne Misner of Centerville, Ohio; one sister Nancy Todd of Monterey, Tenn.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and a brother, Bob Misner of Manila.

The family celebrated Ray's life with a backyard fish fry (fish provided by Ray and Bill). The evening was filled with stories, tears, laughter, and togetherness. Per Ray's request his ashes will be scattered at their cabin in the hills.

Tri-City is honored that the Misner family chose them to fulfill Ray's final wishes. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Manila Cemetery in his memory. Mailing address is 2909 N. State Hwy 77, Manila, Arkansas 72442.
