BIC School Board fills cafeteria position
Buffalo Island Central School Board met Dec. 17 to discuss hiring of a new employee and a bid for baseball scoreboards.
Following the approval of minutes and the financial report the Board approved the hiring of Lou Morris to the East Elementary Cafeteria.
The Board looked at bids on score boards for the baseball field in hopes to prepare for baseball season. The Board discussed two sponsors concerning the project. One, McFarlin Pharmacy, will donate $5,000 over 10 years. The second, RGL, will donate to the project by installing the equipment. A bid of $9,357 submitted by Rainey Electric of Jonesboro was accepted.
In other business Superintendent Gaylon Taylor informed the Board new trucks have been purchased and received. Taylor also shared the expectation to purchase a bus from the Monette Housing Authority. Funding for a new bus was included in the budget and the district is waiting for more information on the availability of the bus.
Public meetings have been set for 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 5 in Monette and Jan. 7 in Leachville.
