Bay rolls past Lady Rebels
Riverside bounces back with win over Cross County
Bay won its 14th consecutive game with a 56-26 rout of Riverside Monday night in senior girls basketball action in Lake City.
The Lady Yellowjackets jumped to a 12-5 lead after the opening quarter and held a 27-18 advantage at intermission. Bay stretched its lead to 39-22 after three periods of play and coasted in the fourth quarter.
Katie Ferguson topped Bay with 19 points while Whitlee Layne and Bailey Bowers added 17 and 10 points respectively.
Skylar Kauke led the Lady Rebels with eight points. Bailey Fisher scored six, Haven Robertson and Carson Smith tallied four points each, Brittany Sain had three while Hattie Milligan chipped in one point.
Riverside squeaked past Bay 33-32 in junior high action. Lexi Hall led the Lady Rebels with nine points while Briley Douglas added seven. Mallory Felton and Hailey Carr tallied six points apiece, Grace Anne Puckett netted three while Carmen Campbell added two.
Olivia Ferguson led Bay with 15 while Bailey Kirby added 10 points.
Riverside blasted Cross County 46-16 Thursday night at Lake City. Robertson led Riverside (12-6, 5-1) with 11 points. The Lady Rebels took the junior high game 37-3.
Riverside opens NEA Tournament play Monday, Dec. 21, against Osceola. A Lady Rebel win will pit Riverside against second seeded Valley View Saturday, Dec. 26, at noon.
